gruner veltliner with a bottle cap. how cool is that?  who cares what it tastes like, it has a bottle cap!  no seriously, clean minerality, slightly creamy and then throw in a few herbs.  drink all night kind of wine.

house cured organic salmon – marinated artichokes | cucumber consommé | 7.95

Venta Don Quijote   Sauvignon Blanc-Macabeo Spain 5.50

spain has done it again.  great herbal notes and citrus.  this wine is one of the better values on the menu. so fresh and so clean as andre 3000 would say.

flatbread of the evening – pecorino | local diced tomatoes | balsamic| local oregano | 7.95

Mauro Veglio    Dolcetto D’Alba   Peimonte, Italy 7.00

the lightest weight of the three major grapes from alba. mauro likes to makes his wines just in between old and new world, meaning neither a ton of oak or no oak. very smooth.

Domaine Skouras   Peloponnese, Greece 6.00

saint george is the predominant grape in this greek wine. it is light refreshing and great for summer dishes. I’m starting to believe that these greek guys really know what they are doing. who knew?

the vintage from year to year can matter, but typically it is not about the vintage more about the wine. unless the vintage is older and then it makes the wine different. this is from 2001, so softer fruit and more balance.

A southern french blend consisting of carignan and syrah.  medium body with that spicy rich flavor that we equate with the rhone wines.
