Txakoli is made most often from a grape named hondarribi zurri.  leave it to the basque to make a slightly effervescent white wine that is just crazy enough to be great.  This is seafood wine.

mencia, pronounced men-thia.  originally thought to be cabernet franc, this is a little lighter in style typically.  we affectionately call it kool-aid for adults. not because it is sweet, but easy drinking.

this is a good example of a syrah at a languedoc price.  red fruit on the front and rich fruit on the back.  great complexity.
